Ingredients:
For the patty:
500g (1.1 lbs) ground beef (preferably 80% lean, 20% fat)
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 egg (optional, helps bind)
2 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional, for firmer texture)
For assembly:
4 burger buns
Cheese slices (e.g., cheddar, American, or Swiss)
Lettuce
Tomato slices
Onion slices
Pickles
Ketchup, mustard, mayo — or your preferred sauces
Instructions:
1. Make the Patties:
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, Worcestershire sauce, egg, and breadcrumbs.
Divide into 4 equal portions. Gently form into patties slightly larger than your buns (they shrink a little when cooking). Make a small indentation in the center with your thumb — this keeps them from puffing up.
2. Cook the Patties:
