 Here's a classic and simple raita recipe, perfect as a cooling side dish with biryani, pulao, or any spicy Indian meal.



๐Ÿฅฃ Basic Cucumber Raita Recipe


Ingredients:


1 cup plain curd/yogurt (fresh and thick)


½ cup cucumber (grated or finely chopped)


1 green chili (finely chopped, optional)


1 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)


¼ tsp roasted cumin powder


Salt to taste


A pinch of black salt (optional)


A few mint leaves (optional, for garnish)




Instructions:


1. Whisk the curd in a bowl until smooth.



2. Add cucumber, green chili, coriander, cumin powder, and salt.



3. Mix everything well.



4. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.



5. Garnish with mint or extra cumin powder if desired.



6. Serve chilled.




๐Ÿง‘‍๐Ÿณ Variations:

Boondi Raita: Add ¼ cup soaked boondi instead of cucumber.


Onion-Tomato Raita: Add finely chopped onion and tomato with a pinch of chaat masala.


Fruit Raita: Mix in chopped apple, banana, and pomegranate for a sweet version.
