Fireless Chocolate Modak Recipe
Fireless Chocolate Modak Recipe
Modak is a traditional sweet offered to Lord Ganesha, especially during Ganesh Chaturthi. While the classic modak is made with rice flour and coconut, today we can give it a modern twist by preparing Chocolate Modak – and that too without fire! This fireless recipe is not only quick and easy but also loved by kids and adults alike.
Ingredients Needed
20–25 digestive or Marie biscuits
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
½ cup condensed milk
¼ cup milk powder
1 teaspoon ghee (clarified butter)
2 tablespoons chocolate chips or grated chocolate
Modak mould
Step-by-Step Method
1. Prepare Biscuit Powder
Crush the biscuits into fine powder using a mixer or by sealing them in a zip-lock bag and rolling with a rolling pin.
2. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine biscuit powder, cocoa powder, milk powder, and chocolate chips.
3. Add Sweetness and Binding
Gradually add condensed milk to the mixture and knead it lightly until it forms a soft, smooth dough-like texture.
4. Shape the Modaks
Grease the modak mould with a little ghee. Take small portions of the mixture, press them into the mould, and shape into beautiful modaks.
5. Set and Serve
Refrigerate the modaks for 15–20 minutes so they hold their shape well.
